This hotel is so inexpensive and yet has so much going for it! I loved the grounds and the proximity to downtown. I called one of the walkways Plumeria Lane because it has so many plumeria trees that were so beautiful and smelled so good! more

Funny thing about all of these reviews of the Kona Islander Inn, is that they are all true. I was there for 6 weeks in the winter of 07. The condos are indepently owned and sone owners care more for their units than others. My first 2 weeks at the Inn were spent in a condo owned by Lisa Weeks.... more

I stayed at the Kona Islander from 6/4/07-6/8/07. I was on my way back to Seattle from Tokyo business travel and stayed over for some R&R. Perfect location although this property wouldn't be recommended if you're doing the Honeymoon thing. It's pretty basic stuff and the rooms are not serviced during your stay. My husband and I stayed in room 316, which is located on the third floor overlooking the pool and garden area. Very private. Beautiful lush grounds, blooming plumerias, close to the ocean, shopping, nightlife, you don't even need a car. Perfect location, peaceful ambiance.
