Gild Hall - A Thompson Hotel is located on Gold Street in the Financial District. The hotel's interior is designed by famed Jim Walrod; it features a bi-level private library and champagne bar, a modern English tavern restaurant by Todd English (April 2006), and 126 sleek, cosmopolitan rooms and suites. Effortlessly blending classical European sensibility with American contemporary style, Gild Hall serves as a modern-day gentleman's club for the movers and shakers of Wall Street. more » « less

I booked the Gild Hall Hotel through a special on Quikbook and got a great rate for a Saturday night in September, 2008. The hotel has recently gone through a refurbishment and the whole place is fun, stylish, clean and comfortable. As everyone else has stated: The hotel is not easy for cab drivers to locate. I had the address,... more

We were looking to stay at a nice hotel for a single night whilst we were staying in NYC but didn't want to spend too much of our budget on a fancy hotel. After reading reviews on Tripadvisor and finding a good price on Expedia, we decided to book the Deluxe King room for approx. 150GBP. The location of the... more

I definitely agree with the comment below. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable. The bathroom does have a transparant door, but I do not agree that you would see everything trough it. I had the same experience with the pastries and coffee in the morning. By 9:30 I couldnt get any tea. With regard to the location, there is... more

Spent 3 nights at Gild Hall during the Labor Day long weekend. Overall a happy stay. It’s true that the hotel is too new and taxi drivers may not be able to find. Good that we got a print our map so our taxi driver just followed it... Hotel lobby is on the small side but still got the hip... more

I stayed for five nights with my college aged daughter in late August / early September at Gild Hall. Having stayed there many times when it was a Holiday Inn and once when they were in transition last December I was not quite sure what to expect. I found that the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was... more

Just an update to my earlier review from 22 Apr. "Great rate at great hotel". After our first stay in March, we went back in June and even after having had a very nice experience with the Gild Hall in March, we found it even had improved! There were minor 3 points I had written about in my first review... more

Looking for a Financial District hotel, and stumbled upon this newly opened property. A wonderful experience, with extremely attentive staff and personal service. It is an obviously new (a renovated hotel, originally built in the 1990's). The first seven floors have quite high ceilings (original property had meeting and conference rooms here) and the decor is, well, a little strange,... more

My husband works in the financial district so for a getaway, I booked an overnight here and met him downtown. This hotel is in the general vicinity of South Street Seaport - but beautifully tucked away as others have noted. I booked through a discount site for $179 a night and prior to this, had never heard of this hotel.... more

Gild Hall is a diamond in the rough. We booked on quikbook for $252 for Fri/Sat. As a former New Yorker, back for a weekend, I had no idea where Gold St was - save yourself alot of hassle and tell your cabbie 22 Platt as the address, Gold is only about a block long.. The hotel is a gem.... more

I booked this hotel through Priceline for $136 on a Saturday night...and overheard the hotel staff say that the regular room rate was $430/night! When I arrived at the hotel, the check-in staff was very friendly and attentive. My room was awesome, very spacious, clean and quiet. There was a large flat screen TV on the wall, a huge comfortable... more
