Yes this hotel is value for money in a great location but I am not sure if I would stay here again. I didn't have to line up for a shower but I think that was because I was up fairly early. The showers and toilets only seemed to be cleaned once a day and I am not sure that... more

I was on holiday in San Francisco for Three night in the begining of our trip and two at the end and stayed at the San Remo the first three nights. This was the first time I stayed in a hotel of this type (I always stay in a large 4 star hotel) and was pleasently suprised. The San Remo... more

Took some time researching San Fran accommodation as we only had a few days.. We were really happy with San Remo. Our room had windows on two sides, a cosy bed and clean shared bathrooms with plenty of towels, body wash, shampoo etc. Staff were helpful, the hotel was charming and for this price and location you really couldn't expect... more

Small rooms with ceiling fans and most have a sink and antique furniture with ceiling fan. Old fashioned toilets and showers down the hall. Five blocks to Fisherman's Wharf. Nice Itialian restuarant and bar on first floor. Great breakfast place just down the alley. Overall, and interesting experience and a nice price for the location. Small rooms but everything was... more

I have stayed here several times on different occassions and always had a pleasant stay. Cant beat the price and location. I dont mind the European bathrooms and think its nice. Last time we had a room in front above the restaurant...great breeze with two windows. I love this place and check out the massage chair upstairs. Unless you are... more

Loved the San Remo! It was the first stop in our American road trip and we could not have chosen a better place to start! It was unique and so so special. We loved the fact that every roomw was decoreted differently and the the beds were so so comfy! Loved all the maps and brouchures that could be picked... more

The San Remo is located in North Beach, which is a fantastic area of SF. It is about a 5 min walk to Fishermans walk and about 3 mins to the start of the Powell and Mason Cable car. The rooms are tiny and have nothing in them, but they are quaint and have a lovely old world charm to... more

This is a quirky and characterful guesthouse-style accommodation that offers brilliant value in a great area of SF. Staff are polite and helpful, and there is lots of information for tourists available in the reception area, along with pay-per-use internet. A laundry room is available for use (when we used it, the cleaning staff emptied the drier for us, folded... more

We recently stayed at the San Remo Hotel for four nights – two nights in the rooftop penthouse and two nights in one of the regular rooms. Both experiences were quite different, therefore I will split my review into two parts: Penthouse The San Remo’s penthouse is probably one of the most unique stays in San Francisco – if you... more

We stayed here during a short visit to SF in June 2008 as part of a world tour and were very impressed! This is a lovelly little hotel full of character. It was built about 100 years ago and not much has changed. I mean that in a very possitive way. In this world of mod cons and technology it's... more
