Very conveniently located in the heart of the cit by the convention center. The hotel is enormous but well run. It is clean and well maintained. There are no surprises and that is why I like Marriott chains and this place is typical of Marriott Hotels but it is just big. You really can't go wrong choosing this hotel. more

The good: Very fast check in. Friendly and efficient staff. Room service dinner was fast and tasted good for hotel food. The area is has plenty to do and is close to BART. The bad: Never got the 4am wake-up call I asked for and almost missed my departing flight. Checked in late and had things all over the bed... more

I stayed at this hotel for a conference. Room was comfortable and clean. Staff seemed friendly and anxious to help. Area around hotel is great with plenty to do. Restaurants around hotel are great and much cheaper than hotel. My only major complaint was the cost of food in the hotel. I almost ordered breakfast one morning and then realized... more

Note that I'm a Marriott Platinum member (I stay 100+ nights/year in Marriotts so my experience might not be typical) Stayed here for the start of a 3 day holiday around California. First impressions were very good, a busy lobby (busy any time of day as I later noticed) - swift check-in (even though we arrived a few hours before... more

Year three in San Francisco at the Marriott for our Fall Show. The sevice has improved slightly in three years - but strangely so. We had several meeting rooms subterranean, so many red-coated young people asked if everything was ok...We had very attentive service from MANY people. Not one person returned for a second check! Security issues still abound at... more

This is your typical big city, big hotel. Very effective and many services available. Great Gym and the rooms are more then fine. The sky bar or whatever its called is very touristy and service is horrible. Besides that the hotel is filled with conventioneers due to its proximity to the moscone center. The location is great near Union square... more

Got a great deal on a room through priceline ($150 tax and service included). The room we were assigned was absolutely amazing. A corner room with a king bed and wall to wall views of the hills and the bay. I personally really enjoy how Marriott uses down comforters with a washable sheet cover. Having a wife that works in... more

The hotel is in a good downtown location with easy access to plenty of bars and restaurants, as well as the superb local transport system. We stayed in a standard room which was very good. The hotel has a really good gym. Prices in the hotel are rather high for drinks and breakfast, but plenty of places nearby offering cheaper... more

Location is excellent for conventions at Moscone Center. It is within easy walking distance to the Convention Center and located near several nice places to eat (also walking distance). I had a room on the 5th floor that I felt was below average for a Marriott. The room itself was average, but the bathroom was a disaster. The tile floor... more

We just stayed at the San Francisco Marriott for several days and our visit was was outstanding. We chose this property even though the JW came much more highly recommended. We were lucky enough to get on a high floor (35th) - and it was a corner room. The views of the city and San Francisco Bay were spectacular. The... more
