We have just spent 1 night at the De Munck. The hotel is easy to find on a number 4 tram (we walked the distance as well) in a good area with good shops and bars. The hotel is basic but clean. Continental breakfast filling with lots of fresh food and bread. I would recommend this hotel for short break... more

We rented the apartment rooms with another family and had a very nice three days in Amsterdam. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and it was so easy to walk everywhere or catch the tram. Stayed at De Munck twice, in '99 and '01. The proprietor, Rob, has that sardonic Dutch humor, but if you find him funny he warms up quickly. We had a reservation for 2 nights. It turns out they overbooked. We were given a room in a neighboring hotel the first night. It was not worth the money. The bathroom had leaks everywhere and was a complete mess. We had to move to another location about 0.5 mile away for the 2nd night. That room was quite nice.... more

Hotel de Munck in Amsterdam is a really nice hotel on a quit place in the middle of the centrum, friendly owner, knows a lot about Amsterdam too and like to give you all the information you need. Hope to go to there soon again more
