have just stayed at the winston hotel on my first visit to Amsterdam and would recommend this hotel. The location is superb, we had a room on the 6th floor and didnt experience any noise problems.We had a small balcony, the room was more than adequate for our stay, everything functioned and there was a constant supply of hot water.... more

The location for the place gies it more stars in general. Centrally located and not hard to find. Guys behind the desk are friendly and that's nice. The room itself is what you get for the price in Amsterdam. First impression wasn't the best really. The security measures for the entering are great but sometimes gets a little bit hard... more

St. Christopher's Winston is definitely a YOUTH hostel. I'm 23 and felt old, compared to the 18 year old, fresh out of high school roommates of mine. The rooms were adequate, and the en-suite showers and toilet were convenient. Ah Amsterdam. A city everyone should experience even just once. The stories the city one could tell. But I digress this is a hotel review and not of the great city. Well then where to start. Me and my girlfriend stayed here for 3 nights (we moved to another hostel) and it was to say mildly, unpleasant. The room was dirty, sink was all choked up and best of all, RATS. Stayed in this hostel for a weekend with a group of girls. We booked a room for 8 online. The room was clean and had its own bathroom, what more do you want. It's nothing fancy but it's a hostel.
