This hotel was recommended by Rick Steves. We used his Italy book to chose hotels for our trip. We arrived to Florence by train and walked to the hotel. It was really easy to find and took about 10 minutes to walk. Once you get to the square where the Baptistery and Duomo are located, to the direct south of... more

We stayed 3 nights at this charming B&B that has the best location in Florence...within short walking distance to all the major sights. The owners are very accommodating & assisted with booking museum reservations. The rooms are very clean & a nice breakfast is served in your room and the time of your choice ! Overall, a great place to... more

We stayed in Florence for two nights in September 2008 and had a really nice time. The property is literally right next door to the Duomo and Baptistery. The location is fantastic, the rooms are large and clean, and the breakfast (served in your room) is also really nice. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They made reservations for... more

We were in Florence over the holidays and booked late. We were looking at nearly 500 Euros a night before we found Soggiorno Battistero. The most important criteria to us at the time was cleanliness. But, now that we've stayed there, we learned about a lot of other things that contribute to a comfortable stay. I can understand why so... more

Here are my impressions Plus Location, location, location! Good value for the Price, rooms are clean and quiet. Kelly is very friendly and helpful. Not so great (but wouldn't stop me from booking here again). No TV in the room, on the 3rd floor no elevator. Beds and pillows are hard but that seems to be normal in Italy all... more

Stayed for 3 nights in early June 2007. This is the second time we have been to Florence so we were familiar with the area. Selected the hotel based on its listing in Rick Steve's book. The owner, Kelly, was very helpful in recommending restaurants and in arranging to make reservations for restaurants and musuems (I would recommend that you... more

It was extremely hot in Florence but the ceiling fan was all we needed to be comfortable. Due to noise, we had to close the noise dampening windows (which worked great) but the room was still cool enough. Absolutely the best views in Firenze (see photos). About 70 steps up to the B&B but no problem if you're healthy and... more

I was visiting my daughter in college there for the semester, and happened to find this place.. Perfect location across from the Duomo with a clear view of the courtyard. And the nicest people running it (Calif and Italy natives), who even helped my daughter find an accommodation where her apt lease was up. The kicker..........best rate by far as... more

Soggiorno Battistero was really what I was looking for: clean, convenient, close to the train station AND it included a daily exercise program FOR FREE (the stairs). I didn't mind the stairs at all. In fact, after a day of pizza and gelato I was glad to be given the opportunity to work a small part of it off. Kelly... more

Yes, the location is great, but what location in Florence isn't great? Exhausted after a long plane ride, train trip and walk in the rain, we were dissappointed in the cold reception we got from the owner. He seemed put out that he had to answer the door and show us to our room. A room with a view was... more
