We stayed in Malaspina Hotel for 3 nights in late Sept, early Oct, Upon arrival reception staff were courteous, unfortunately this was the only time during our stay that we received as much as a 'Hello'. They seemed at all other times to be totally dis-interested in their customer and their work. Hotel is situated approx 12 mins from central... more
Although we got turned around leaving the train station, once we got our bearings the hotel was in a nice location. A little far from the "main action" of Florence, but plenty of cafes, restaurants, etc along Via Nazionale which ran straight into the heart of everything right from the hotel. The walk to see the David was less than... more
Stayed here late September this year (2008). Location is close to Train Station,, but there are several hotels even closer. Price was comparable to other properties in Florence. Bath Room was small but nice and had "american style" toilets and sinks etc. Shower has plenty of pressure. Breakfast was nice but limited, but I didn't book this for Breakfast. You've... more
This is a late review but I think it's important to write it even though several months after the fact. I took my daugher on a 10 day, 3 country trip to Europe in March, our first European trip. We booked the Malaspina thru a Travel Agent in advance for 3 nights. Unfortunately, the reviews we read about Malaspina prior... more
First of all, thank you very much for your very valued contribution. I do personally apologise for the incovenience caused to you by my STAFF. Best regards. Yours Sincerely, Marco Nori Bufalini Manager
We stayed in this hotel for 3 nights recently and loved our stay as the room was clean, well decorated and spacious enough for a 3 member family. The 18 century ambience is impressive. The hotel staff was helpful enough to show us the directions to places of attractions and assist for taxi booking. While the location of this hotel... more
My friend booked the hotel based on location to the train station. First of all, it wasn't as close as we wanted it to be considering we had luggage. It is away from all the main attractions so it is quiet. It is hard to find a place to eat in the near area. Decent accommodations. The only bad memory... more
The hotel is just close enough to the main sights like the Galleria and Duomo, but far enough away from the madness of central Firenze. It's also very close to the train station, which was invaluable to us. There aren't many good places to eat in the immediate vicinity but we didn't mind walking a bit. The staff was always... more
My friends and I stayed in a triple room in Malaspina and were satisfied with the accommodations. The people working at the front desk were perfectly polite (although not exuberantly friendly). Our room was clean, and the towels were surprisingly nice and thick. The water pressure in the shower was also very good. Our biggest complaint about the room was... more
This hotel is in a wonderful location. It is close enough to walk to from the train terminal (unless you have a ton of luggage). Florence is a pretty easy city to get around and we had no problem at all walking to all of the sights around town. It was only a 5 minute walk to the Accademia Museum.... more
First of all thank you for your review. The only thing I do not understand is your complaint for the laundry service. Inside each room, in the wardrobe you can find our laundry list and a plastic bag. The laundry list has two copies. The first one is white and the second one is yellow. The white one is the...
