We recently enjoyed a 3 night stay at the Montebello Splendid to celebrate our 30th Wedding Anniversay. The Management very kindly gave us a free room upgrade to a large room with a nice balcony, also included a beautiful fruit platter. We stayed at the hotel in August 2008. In all honesty, we were disappointed on multiple fronts. Here are a few to note: 1. The carpeted corridors before the elevators were extremely smelly. 2. My husband and I just got back from our trip, which included a four night stay at the Montebello Splendid. My husband has back problems, and this was the only hotel we stayed at in Italy where he slept the entire night. The beds alone are worth the price! Hard hotel to find, but when you do it is delightful. Parking is tough, but such a nice job of rennovation. Breakfast staff not the friendliest, but everything else was very good. more

The rooms were small, but clean. The hotel itself was very quite and unique. If it was not for the company at breakfast, we felt as though we were the only people in the hotel. The staff rarely smiled and I always had to search for someone to help me. I had to call the front desk at least twice... more
