We liked our stay at the Sofitel. It has a small seating area in addition to the bedroom. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated. Sofitel Firenze has a very central location, but hotel itself is nothing special. It looks a little bit old-fashioned (but not in a charming way) and boring. The suite we had, was, however, nice, big and clean. Breakfast was very dissapointing. more

After having to cancel reservations in another town due to bad weather, we were able to walk in and make reservations at the Hotel Sofitel. Just returned from Italy. My wife is a Corporate Flight Attendant and the FBO at Florence airport booked the hotel. I flew on my own into Rome the following day and took the train up to Florence. While this snatch of copy is true, the uninitated to "Firenze" may not realize that 90% of Florence's hotels can make the same claim.
