We stayed for a week in the Ca D'oro in the Superior Deluxe Double Room. Room 202, room with the canal view which we requested when booking. The canal which we were overlooking wasnt as exciting and romantic as it sounds. Directly opposite are residential houses where the locals are living. South/East Canareggio is definitely the best area in the 'main' part of Venice to stay, and this hotel was well located off the very main streets but with all sights etc very accessible. Hotel was only average, breakfasts poor and limited, and one of the receptionists was unhelpful when asked to help us with booking trips etc. more
