My family stayed in two different rooms at Locanda Ca' Le Vele in May while on a longer trip to Italy. The staff was very attentive and nice and gave us great recommendations on where to eat in Venice without paying a fortune! While one prior reviewer notes that there were not large public rooms in the hotel, my husband... more
We booked Locanda Ca'Le Vele for four nights via our travel agent after a thorough internet search on Venice lodgings, including Tripadvisor comments. It proved to be a great decision. First of all, it is easy to find, just walk through the alley from the Ca'd'Oro vaporetto no 1 (public waterbus) stop to the Strada Nova, turn right and walk... more
Ahead of our trip to Venice in May 2008, we emailed several hotels and B&Bs to find that the majority were either fully booked or charging rather high rates. After reading the reviews of Locanda Ca' Le Vele, we contacted the hotel and although there were no rooms available in the hotel itself for the period of our visit, we... more
This is such a beautiful, cozy hotel. It is a 3-5 minute walk from the Ca d’or Vapartetto stop, and that was in the rain! The rooms are very ornate and had enough room for the two of us and our large suitcases. They provide a large wardrobe to hang clothes and put folded items on. There's a room safe,... more
I recommend Ca' Le Vele. To comment on some previous reviews -- we did have one of the "classic" rooms - hence no view, and the bathroom, pretty roomy, did have a small shower. And breakfast, which was quite nice, was brought to the room as it is true that there is no common area. We were always asked when... more
Great place, can't say enough good things about it. Loved the classic Venetian decor and the large bathrooms. A very short walk from the Ca d Oro vaparetto stop and around the corner from pleny of restaruants and shopping. Staff was attentive and wanted to make sure your stay was perfect. They were helpful with information on the area and... more
A great hotel in Venice. The prices are excellent for what you get. and that's a room right on a canal. We selected one of the larger rooms and had a balcony right on one of the small canals. Use their website for previews of the rooms. ([-]) The staff is very helpful and a nice breakfast is included in... more
Frankly it was a great disappointment and I wouldn't recognise it from the other reviews. No public spaces - we had to eat in our room. A tiny room although admittedly it was clean, as was the bathroom. Nowhere to leave luggage - we had to leave it on the reception floor and were amazed to find it still there... more
We stayed here between Christmas and New Year on a 4 night break in the junior suite. The room was spotless, large and over looked a small canal. The bathroom was perhaps on the small side but perfectly adequate and very clean. The hotel staff new your name after meeting them once, breakfast was served to your room everyday at... more
