Hotel Marconi is right next to the Rialto Bridge. I wouldn't consider it a ritzy hotel but because of the location, I would recommend it to anyone traveling to Venice. The location could not be any better, right by the Rialto bridge. We had only 1 day to spend in Venice, so it was perfect. Unreliable behavior of front desk person who controlled our room access via an alley next to the hotel, at end of his shift he left the alley access door locked so we could get out only by wending our way through unfamiliar hotel hallways, third single bed crammed into room making a table and chairs uselessly inaccessible, requested extra pillows... more

We stayed there twice. First time was absolutely fantastic - great location, rooms had character and staff were fantastically helpful. Second time all this was true but our room smelt of sewage. I would still recommend it though. more
