This was by far our favorite hotel in Italy. It is a gorgeous hotel right on the Grand Canal and a stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge. I cannot imagine staying anywhere else in Venice. For what you pay (very reasonable), I can't imagine getting a better hotel. Owner/operator Matteo was so gracious and friendly and sincerely interested in us... more

There are no words to describe the charme of the place and the peerless position of the hotel: the pictures made by other travellers speak by themselves. So, just few words that can resume the heart of this wonderful place: this is the way each Hotel in the world shuold have to be managed. The kindness of the owner Matteo... more

Having visited Venice several times in the past, I was amazed to find a hotel of this quality and level of guest service at this price. The owner, Matteo, greeted me upon arrival by name. Our room was not only clean, which is an imperative, but also gorgeous. No lodging in Venice proper is inexpensive, but even compared to the... more

We just loved our stay at Hotel Al Ponte Antico. The Hotel owner, Matteo, and his staff could not have been friendlier or more accommodating. The hotel's balcony/terrace and some of the rooms overlook the Rialto Bridge. We would enjoy reasonably priced, delicious wine out on the balcony during the evening, despite the cold weather. Our room (103) was very... more

Everything about the hotel is excellent - it may not have the facilities of a 5 star hotel but the customer service (Matteo, Oliviero, Rosalba et al) is better than any 5 star hotel we have ever stayed in. Would re-iterate everyone else's comments - if you visit Venice, you must stay here - it makes the trip that little... more

We followed others' advice and would reinforce all the positive comments. Matteo is a superb host and very knowledgeable about the City and where to eat and where to find the best wines. The location is perfect, far enough away from St Mark's to avoid the worst of the tourists, but easy walking to all main attractions. more

If you experience one hotel stay in your lifetime it should be the Al Ponte Antico Hotel. The overall beauty and warmth of the hotel is only surpassed by the wonderful people who make your stay unforgettable. Upon arrival Oliviero welcomed us as if we were family. After showing us around this magnificent property we were made to feel as... more

The staff was incredible! They knew us by name at check-in, they offered recommendations for dinner and entertainment that were unbelievable. The breakfast each morning was to die for! Fresh homemade omelets, fresh fruit, sausage, bacon and crepes. We were so spoiled I cannot begin to tell you how soon I would like to return! more

We stayed at the Hotel Al Ponte Antico for 2 nights at the begininng of October prior to a cruise. We had a junior suite on the first floor. The room was huge with a magnificent view of the Grand Canal and the Rialto Bridge. In the afternoon we would open the large windows and sit watching the Venetian world... more
