After being almost put off all week, from travelling to Venice, due to the unprecedented flood level, we decided to just go anyway and take our wellie`s. What a great decision. The sight of St Mark`s square on arrival on Friday evening December 5th, although it was quite dark and drizzling with rain, the spectacle was breathtaking and just had... more

I arrived in the middle of a thunderstorm, after a delayed flight from Rome and litterally waded into the San Zulian at one in the morning. I must say that the staff were extremely helpful and polite, the room nice and cosy, with all ameneties. The location, just off San Marco, is excellent and quiet. I would add that it... more

This little hotel was a true treasure. We arrived in Venice during a downpour and were completely drenched. We arrrived at the hotel 2 hrs before check in. The desk manager told us that check in was noon, but looked at the four of us with pity and offered us two rooms on the first floor immediately. We were thrilled... more

Our stay at the San Zulian started out great. We arrived at the hotel very early after an overnight train ride. The directions from the vaporetto stop were perfect. At first they told us that the room would be ready at noon. After resting in the lobby for 1/2 hour we were told that our room was ready. Things progressively... more

We spent two nights at the San Zulian and we found it to be the perfect small hotel to stay. It has a terrific location, right in the heart of San Marco and Venice. While nothing is easy to find in Venice we did not nearly find it as difficult to find as the reviews we had read. Tip- print... more

When I arrived with my husband and son of 11 years of age at 11pm we were greeted with a miserable, abrupt fellow. We were given the key to room 102 which was small and the ensuite facilities of a shower, bidet, toilet and sink were installed in a tiny room. The toilet seat kept falling down on its own,... more

After wandering around through the maze of Venice, we found San Zulian-- we should have taken a water taxi, because they're easy to find by canal but when you're trying to save money... A very nice, clean hotel, with breakfast available in your room for no extra charge (at least when I was there). A great bathroom, very large with... more

We stayed at Hotel San Zulian in May 2008, in room 107. Our room was clean and pleasant. Although there was no closet or bureau, the room included a nicely-sized wardrobe. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were a bit flatter than what we’re used to. Still, we slept well. The bathroom was clean and the shower rather small,... more

Hotel is located in between the Piazza San Marco and the Rialto Bridge. Great location, though it is a bit difficult to find as there are no real good maps of Venice's tiny alleyways. Hotel was nice, small, but well-kept. The room had a lovely view of all Venice's house tops - which I actually loved. Although the breakfast room... more

The owner of this hotel is not fit to run a bath! Small hotel run by about 4 people (Fawlty Towers comes to mind) At 6pm one evening I asked for some hot water to fill a glasss and was told "NO! the bar is closed, it is not possible". "This is hot water we are talking about and you... more
