I stayed here for several nights back in March of '06 (spring break)... The staff was very friendly and the two bell boys (I think they must have been 12-years-old) who showed me to my room were funny and adorably quirky... While I was checking-in the bartender saw that I was tired from my journey and bought me a beer...... more

I read great reviews of this property but they didn't come close to the fabuous experience I had there. It was the perfect hotel to experience Venice. The rooms and the hotel were furnished with authentic antiques and Murano chandeliers. The room had a window facing the side canal with views to the front as well. The little terrace on... more

my wife & I stayed at this hotel in July. Its a lovely 14th century hotel which keeps much of its values from that time era. The rooms are on the smaller size but seems like most hotels in Venice are like this as theier seems to be limited space in these hotels. However the rooms were kept clean the... more

After reading all the positive reviews about this hotel on tripadvisor I was really excited about staying at this hotel. We arrived in the evening and were told that the hotel had overbooked and they had no rooms left. We had booked a double room and wanted the trip to be special as we were celebrating our first wedding anniversary.... more

My daughter and I stayed at the San Cassiano in July. We arrived weary after having dealt with delays due to a cancelled train. We traveled to the hotel by water taxi and were greeted at the front dock by one of the hotel staff who immediately took our luggage for us and carried it up to our third floor... more

I've been hesitant to write a review of this hotel due to all of the raving ones & feel I might insult people. At any rate, here goes. I don't get the glowing reviews. I stayed here in Dec. of '05 & did not get the"big wow" factor. The room was tiny, with a twin bed pushed up against the... more

We have stayed at San Cassiano three times now - in 2004, 2006, and 2008 and we love it. Its hidden away in a little alleyway but sits right on the Grand Canal so you are close to all the sights. We have been in three different rooms and they have varied in both size and standard but that is... more

I have always been one to accept that we, in the Trip Advisor forum, are a broad church and what suits one does not suit another. However, having read a recent review of the San Cassiano from a member from NYC, I would like to give an alternative view. Unfortunately, while in control of a not insubstantial section of the... more

The hotel is right on the Grand Canal but in a very quiet area, close enough to walk to St. Mark's but away from the horde of tourists and high food prices. Arriving by water taxi from the airport was great - right to the door. The staff was very helpful. We would stay here again. more

My wife and two young daughters had an excellent stay at the San Cassiano Ca'Favretto. This property was, for us, the perfect combination of being close to where we wanted to be (10 minute walk to the Rialto Bridge) and yet was quiet and peaceful in the evenings. Lots of good restaurants, in various price ranges, in the area. Short... more
