Residenza Arco dei Tolomei is a very nice place to stay but I do not believe it deserves the number 2 rating of B&B's in Rome. Marco, Gianna, and Catia were all wonderful; the best part about this sweet B&B. It is very conveniently located, clean, comfortable and nice breakfasts. A very welcoming and comfortable B&B in the heart of Rome. Easy public transport access to all parts of the city and some places within walking distance. Everyone made us feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. A good breakfast and plenty of advice concerning 'off-the-beaten-track' Rome and some great restaurant recommendations. We only stayed one night but we had a very pleasant time in excellent rooms and Marco and his family were on hand with friendly, helpful advice for our visit. We also enjoyed our breakfast which includes fresh cake cooked each morning. The entrance is a bit daunting but the hotel itself is very smart and homely. more

I can't give enough glowing praise to all of the staff at Arco dei Tolomei. It is a cozy, warm and inviting haven nestled just blocks away from the Tiber. I especially enjoyed our morning breakfast visits with Marco who shared with us some of his favorite hidden dining spots. We were not disappointed. I will absolutely stay here again.... more
