My husband and I stayed in Hotel Villa San Pio for 3 nights in May 2006 and loved it so much we returned in May 2007. We enjoyed it more the second time as the first time the weather was a bit overcast and not warm enought to eat in the garden thought the conservatory is very pleasant. Breakfast in... more

If you are a large party who like a drink and a good time this is not the hotel for you. Not only is is massively overpriced, they shut the bar at 10pm some nights. They made us feel unwelcome, were unhelpful to an elderly relative. The rooms were beautiful, a great size, the breakfast was nice, the grounds lovely,... more

We reply after the negative comment on tripadvicer. The aventino s. Anselmo Hotels that manages the Hotel Villa San Pio, has a long tradition and a natural vocation to hospitality in the tourism field, from decades our job and all our efforts aim to the satisfaction of our clients, whoever they are; this is also confirmed by the positive feed...

We stayed here two years ago and loved the hotel for its location and beautiful, peaceful gardens. This year we returned with some friends - always a risky thing to do, but we were not disappointed. Our friends loved it as much as we did. It's such a relief to come back to such peace and greenery after the chaos... more

My husband and I spent 10 days in Rome and Florence and stayed in three hotels total. The Villa San Pio was our first hotel and we were there for three nights. I feel like it has been over-rated on Trip Advisor. Granted, it is in a beautiful building, the grounds are peaceful, the breakfast/bar area is inviting and the... more

My husband and I have just returned from a 2 night stay in Rome and stayed at this lovely hotel following recommendations in Trip Advisor. We left the children with their auntie and had a romantic weekend away for our anniversary. Firstly, the hotel staff were all helpful and couteous. They even provided us with a bottle of champage on... more

My wife and I stayed at this charming hotel located in Aventina, one of the 7 hills in Rome last August 21-25, 2008. Accomodations are decent and average, not a 5 star luxury hotel more like a 5 star B&B. On the plus, this hotel provides a wonderful breakfast spread & complete bathroom amenities, including robes & slippers. The staff... more

I have just returned from a 4 day stay in Hotel Villa San Pio. We had actually booked into one of the nearby sister hotels, Hotel Aventino (who had unlawfully deducted one night's fee from my account in JUNE with no explanation) - only to find the gate locked on arrival and a flimsy note attached advising people to go... more

This is a comfortable, clean and welcoming hotel in a peaceful and safe area. We chose it because of its proximity to the Caracalla Baths because we were going to a performance there, but would recommend it to anyone visiting Rome who wants to stay away from the noise and bustle of the city while being within reach of major... more

I come to Rome at least once a year - winter and summer. On business. I chose only to stay at the Hotel Villa San Pio. Now stayed there4-5 times. Room rate is usually euro135 (single) and I believe twin/double would be the same. It is well worth the money ! This trip -I have a massive double room with... more

The Villa San Pio is an oasis in Rome. Tucked away in the Aventine Hill neighborhood, it is a five minute walk to the Palatine through a pleasant residential neighborhood. We wanted tranquility and accessibility, and this was an excellent choice. The room was large and gorgeous, the bed extremely comfortable. If you want to be in the thick of... more
