A nice experience last year prompted us to return to this Hotel d'Inghilterra, but this time we had the worst experience ever. No hot water one night, no water at all another night, jewelry stolen from the room, and above all a cold and dispassionate staff. This is an expensive, so called "5 star" hotel which delivers little service and... more

Great location, great restaurant fantastic service and food. A shame about the rest of the hotel. Front desk think they are really special, The rooms are ok, old need updating, the springs on the bed made of cement. not worth 800 euros per night, and worse they would not let us check out at 1pm, 12.30 was the best they... more

This hotel is in major need of an overhall. The carpet is filthy. The bathroom in need of an overhall. Not worth $100 a night. Stay away. more

Maybe our perception was a little skewed coming directly from the Hotel Villa Franca in Positano where the balcony in our room overlooked the city and the water, but we were expecting much more in a five star hotel. Our nonsmoking room smelled like smoke and the carpet was old and stained like the carpet in a fraternity house. The... more

We spent one brief night at this hotel the night before our departure from the Rome airport after returning from the Amalfi coast. We chose the hotel because of it's reputation and location. The location was perfect, the hotel somewhat disappointing. We arrived before the normal check in time and the room was ready which was nice. The room was... more

Great location. Very comfortable rooms. Charming hotel and as friendly as one could possibly wish in Rome (that´s not the specialty in the "Eternal City"...). Service ok. more

If you want to go designer shopping this is the hotel for you! It is surrounded by designer shops and in an up market location. The hotel in quiet location and we felt very safe walking around at night. The hotel staff are excellent and nothing is too much trouble. If they recommend a restaurant then you can be certain... more

We have been to the Inghilterra twice, both times at Christmas and just cannot wait to go again. I can't imagine how (or why?) anyone could give this hotel a bad review. It certainly compared very well with other hotels we have stayed at in Rome, for example the Albergo del Senato, where we stayed this October..admittedly the Inghilterra costs... more

MOLTO LAME is the word that comes to mind when I think of this overpriced, dingy, dark, miserable place. This is a lame hotel for old farts, with dimly lit rooms, ugly dated fixtures that give you the creeps, (not to be confused with antiques), moldy showers, thieving maids, absolutely disgusting, overpriced food and a staff that looks like the... more

If shopping floats your boat, then this is the place to stay. Charming, 'old-world' style Italian hotel. We had a room with balcony on to the front, which was great. Small room, but huge marble bathroom and tastefully decorated - not modern though if that is your thing. Friendly staff, good English skills, and classic Italian service - with a... more
