This museum is definitely worth seeing. In fact, I've never seen anything like it. It was very informative and interesting. I found the history and progress of the medical field to be the most interesting part of the museum. It's amazing to see what was done and believed by the medical field even 100 years ago. The skull exhibit from... more

You can learn a lot at the Mutter, and it's worth a look. It has two floors and it doesn't take long to view the whole museum. My teen daughters were fascinated in there, and we spent a long time reading the info on the different displays. Teens would find it pretty interesting, but this is not for small children.... more

The Mutter Museum was definatly an interesting stop in Philly. We did it in about an hour. The front half was mostly pictures and old antique textbooks. Things in this section seemed to be well labeled and explained. The second half of the museum was where the more "gross" stuff was. They had lots of skulls and body parts and... more

This is a must-do while in Philly. The museum is in a beautiful building and is relatively small in size. Depending on how much you want to read, and how crowded it is, you can expect to spend at least an hour and a half here. It is $12 for adults, reduced admission for kids, seniors, students, etc. You have... more

I knew someone who grew up in a Phila suburb who raved about the Mutter, and made several visits there. So when I went to the country, we took a day trip to Phila, just to see that museum. IT WAS FABULOUS, AND SO INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE! I am not into medical stuff or doctors, but I was enthralled! I... more

The Mütter Museum is a museum of medical oddities, antique medical equipment as well as a large collection of biological specimens located in the College of Physicians of Philadelphia. It also hosts a comprehensive collection of medical research and education. (Lots of interesting history) Mutter's is hailed for its vast collection of skulls and unique specimens, including a 5'-long human... more

As the other reviewers mentioned if you are easily grossed out or have a weak stomach, then this is not the place for you. If you can handle it, then you will find yourself fascinated by this unusual museum. We spent a good deal of time there. In fact, when we visited we were staying at the Park Hyatt at... more

If you are going to see Two things in Philly, i would recommend the Mutter Museum and the Zoo. I went with my girlfriend on friday aug 4 and it was the first thing we went to. We got there at 10 am when it opened and it was not crowded at all. With our student IDs (expired, but they... more

I travelled to Philly in November with a group of other honor students from my college in SC. Before the trip, the professors chapheroning took a poll of where everyone wanted to go, and almost everyone travelling with us wanted to visit the Mutter Museum. We visited the museum on our last morning in Philly, and it wasn't crowded. The... more
