We went on the tour because the guy giving us the tour of the city hall tower recommended it. He was a mason himself. Not a good starting point... It is a huge bulding with many rooms with different themes. The themes are all unimaginative copies of different architectural eras all made in painted plaster much like a Las Vegas... more

The Temple was under construction when we visited so it was a bit of an eyesore from the exterior. Knowing really nothing of the history of Masonry, we were hoping the tour would provide historical information of their origins and whatnot. We were dismayed to find out that the tour was more about going room to room inside the buildings... more

It is $8, cash only, just to let you know! If you have an old school camera, like myself, be sure to bring about 3 or 4 rolls for this sight! Very nice.. more

The Masonic Temple really wasn't on the top of our list...but it should have been. Regardless of one's opinions of secret societies, this place is spectacular...spectacularly weird. (Makes you wonder how weird Geo. Washington, a Mason, was.)There were only two visitors other than our family on our tour. An earlier tour that day apparently had 21 people. Our tour guide,... more
