From the breezy patio outside the visitor center, one has a great view of the city of San Diego and Naval Air Station North Island to the northeast. On a clear day one can see the distant mountains, also. We watched a submarine come into port, C130s and other aircraft take off, and redtail hawks float on the breeze as... more

This was an OK place to visit. The view of the harbor was great. Driving down the hill was probably the best part because of the shore line. The statue is nice if you're into statues but otherwise I wasn't impressed. more

On our recent tip to San Diego, I decided to visit the park as a break from Seaworld and other activities. We were not disappointed. We did not know what to expect, and my 2 kids spent about 3 hours at the park walking, hiking and playing on the rocks, tide pools and lighthouse area. It was totally unexpected, and... more

Incredibly beautiful views...absolutely stunning. Monument has a museum featuring exhibits about early Spanish explorers, plus a lighthouse and keeper's quarters from the late 1800s, complete with furnishings and information about life for the keeper and his family. We didn't get a chance to explore the tidepools (we arrived at the wrong time, later in the day, around 3, and the... more

The hike down to the tide pools and along the cliffs was very relaxing. We were there on a sunny day and were able to see some seals and small marine animals. Being from the Midwest, we also enjoyed the flora which is so different from what we were used to. It was especially helpful that the bushes and flowers... more

My family loves going here. You get an awesome view of the harbor and city. We were lucky enough to see the Ronald Regan leaving port right below us as we stood on the point. The light house has a great history and makes for some good photo opportunities. Don't forget to drive down to the tide pools and see... more

The Cabrillo National Monument is worth the $5.oo park fee. The visitor's center was not very interesting. They do show a few 25 minute films throughout the day. We watched one on Cabrillo, it was interesting! The tide pools are very cool. We didn't see them at the optimal time, but is was still fun to explore and watch the... more

We went to Cabrillo National Monument at Point Loma upon recommendation from a friend and were not disappointed. The monument itself is semi-interesting (in my opinion), but the views are beautiful! Great views of San Diego, the Coronado Bay Bridge, and the ocean blues! You can walk down to the ocean and enjoy the beauty of the cliffs and tidepools.... more

Our boys were reluctant to explore until they experienced the tide pools and rock formations on the coast at Cabrillo. Amazing. All three boys did not want to leave this place. Huge cliffs, interesting flora, and tiny creatures to experience. Wish we had time to go back and spend another few hours here. Plus, we were alone much of our... more

$5 gets you the best view of San Diego. Thats $5 for a car for a week! Every time I've been there it has been a joy. Don't miss the tide pools and the walk where you can experience the flora of San Diego before San Diego existed. A great place to relax and chill. Do note that the closing... more
