If you are going to San Deigo with kids and you don't already have your agenda booked with Legoland and the Zoo save your money and give this a shot. I was unable to go, but the six kids and three adults (both boys and girls) I was traveling with who went absolutely loved it! The museum is child friendly, full of great exhibits, and has a wonderful collection of old ships and replicas. The Star of India is berthed there, and is one of a kind. The people working at the museum are eager to show you around. It's a part of San Diego that no one should miss. more

We did not go inside the ships but you can see them all as you walk along the sidewalk. The Star of India is beautiful and the big aircraft carriers are huge (though small compared to a current one.)
