Although we missed the Balboa Park stop on the Old Town Trolley Tour the day before, in retrospect we're happy things worked out the way they did. I love walking through Balboa Park. There is so much to do. Make sure you take the walking tour available in the visitors center. It's cheap and really gives you the history about Balboa Park. Also, there are neat theme cooking classes and tasting parties. Check out their website. more

Our family spent a day in Balboa Park on a recent trip to San Diego. We enjoyed the beauty of the grounds and the trails. We went to the Science Musem, Aerospace Museum, Timkin Museum, and the International Cottages (it was a Sunday). Our family enjoyed everything. This truly is a must see if you are in San Diego. more

"Free Tuesdays" must have changed a bit according to previous descriptions. Not all museums are free on every Tuesday. On each Tuesday of the month there are 3-4 museums that are designated as free. Even though we barely made a scratch of seeing everything in the 4 hours we were there, it's still easy to highly recommend this. There is a museum for every interest, and the grounds are all nicely kept up with spacious walkways.
