Traveler Reviews on Osaka

Cross Hotel Osaka

Jan 3, 2009

It was last minute change and I booked it thru Octopus Travel...Boy, they really did a good job for an online agent. I got few disappointing experiences if booking thru agent before. The hotel location is great, just next to Shinshaibashi and Dotombori area, which are main attractions in Osaka city. But what I love love most about this hotel... more

Dai-Ichi Osaka Hotel

Hmmm .... this is not a destination hotel but a clean enough place to sleep near the JR Train Station. Not a very Western friendly hotel. We went for a vacation and don't know about business facilities or pool/gym ... I understand there aren't any. The decor is kind of space-trailer ... laminated walls in the hallway, prefab bathrooms. PROS:... more

We are loyal Westin travelers and before going on this trip we read reviews of this hotel and were a bit reluctant about staying at the Westin Osaka. I must say that this hotel was a nice surprise. At $190 per night, compared to the Westin Tokyo rate of $400 per night, we were afraid that our experience would be... more

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in Dec 08. The location is fantastic - within walking distance to lots of restaurants , shopping and for people watching ! The place has seen better days but it is nevertheless clean and comfortable. Our room was very spacious and overlooked the river (not much of a view while we... more

Overall: From room quality to location to breakfast, this is an excellent hotel in all ways. I had stayed at this hotel before when it was the Riva Nankai prior to renovation, and what a difference it is! Location: 3 minutes walk from Namba subway station exit #14. There are elevators or escalators at exit #15, just one block further,... more

This hotel is absolutely a little gem!!! Don't have too high an expectation though, it is just great for the price, in my opinion, apart from tokyo bay hilton hotel, the is the best hotel in japan for the price. we've stayed in a few others which are more expensive, this one costed us about 7000yen for the two of... more

I was in Osaka for my honeymoon in December. After reading reviews from tripadvisor, I have decided on Swissotel Nankai Osaka. Indeed... it was my best choice made. The room that I got was one with a queen size bed. The city view from the hotel was excellent. Compared to the other rooms that I have stayed in Japan, this... more

my wife and I had an excellent teppanyaki set at Chibo Dotombori Osaka last evening before flying back to Singapore today. we chanced on the restaurant Chibo while strolling along Dotombori and trying out the Okonomiyaki and level 1. realizing that there is a teppanyaki restaurant on level 5 we went back the next evening and really enjoyed a superb... more

We absolutely loved our stay here. We stayed for 7 days. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and well presented. Rooms had everything we required. Very handy to Shin Osaka Station, 4 minutes walk. A good station to venture further afield from. Good eateries nearby. Post office across the road. What more could you ask for. more

The staff was nice, but I have to say that this place could use more A/C! The weather was too hot for us to be comfortable inside this guesthouse. We couldn't sleep at night, we were sweating like pigs. It was soooooooo stuffy, I have never been so uncomfortable in my whole life! But i already paid for the stay,... more

New Osaka Hotel is a gem of a spot if you are a) on a budget, b) not insanely picky about luxury entitlement when it comes to hotels and c) want to see the REAL Osaka and not the fake bubble of tourist town. Pros: - Near Shin Osaka Station [five minute walk; 45 minute ride to Kansai Airport] -... more

The western-style single room was cosy and clean. You'd need to alert the reception should you want your room cleaned. I asked about hot water for drinking and the guy at the reception loaned me a portable boiler for free (how nice!). Though there were many other hotel guests, some very noisy, I always got to use the individual shower... more

We booked 2 rooms - twin and triple, and considered it a value for money stay. Stayed a total of 4 nights.Easy access from JR Namba and the OCAT building too. The hotel staff recommended that we took the airport bus (from OCAT building) for our returned flight from Kansai Airport. Another cost savings if you're travelling on budget. The... more

Great place to relax and enjoy the water facilities...from kids to adults. Print the promotion voucher from their web and bring along with you. On the day we went, there's a promo for ladies - Y1300 for the whole day. The vouchers were handy for my hubby and kids. This place is amazing. We visited it on our last day... more

With the current exchange rate to our disadvantage, entry to the park is expensive. As mentioned in the previous post, be prepared to wait for the rides(60-90 mins or more) even thougn we went on a Monday. Shows are all in Japanese. My kids simply watched without understanding it. Not much fun as compared to Disneysea, which we visited too. The... more

Location: It' s a bit far from the Osaka Station, unlike the concierge advised us to walk 7mins upon we arrived from Kyoto by train. You can walk thru a well-planned and designed underground passage or ho in and out to the shopping area with direct access from the passage. The main entrance is not very grand yet it is... more

Ramada Osaka Hotel

Dec 15, 2008

Two months before heading to Japan, we realised we were no longer able to afford the Osaka Hilton after the Aussie dollar crashed, and needed to down-scale, but were struggling to find a property which would guarantee a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor for our 5-night stay. We landed at the Osaka Ramada because they have 2 entire non-smoking... more

The room was a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with all you could ask for. Facilities to do your own meals or a plethora of restaurants very near by. The best value eatery was TOKU, up the hill towards the subway, on the corner. Great food. The hotel had very helpful staff who mostly had good English skills and their English... more

As a business hotel this would get 5 stars, but as a hotel in general it is worth 4. Great price, excellent location, wonderful breakfast, free internet. On the down side, rooms are tiny but ok if you are travelling by yourself with only one piece of lugguage. I would stay here again, it is very convenient to get to... more

This review is a little belated. We were at the Hyatt Regency Osaka in November 07 but I just found a couple of photos from our trip this morning and thought I might write a quick review.
