El Oasis

Jan 2, 2009

We stayed 3 nights at the Oasis and it was one of our favorite spots in Panama. The hotel is in a lovely place on the river and a very short walk from downtown. We stayed while there was construction occuring but even so the place was clean and well-kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful in planning activities,... more

La Montana y el Valle Coffee Estate Inn

Upon our arrival we were greeted by both Jane and Barry, our hosts. Jane introduced us to our cottage, a one bedroom with a large common living and kitchen area. All had scenic views over the valley and great breezes. Fresh fruit and fresh flowers were prolific. The next morning Barry took us on a tour of the coffee estate.... more

We've just returned from a long weekend at Valle Escondido and generally were very pleased with the stay. The resort is situated in a beautiful wooded valley, with a pretty bubbling river running throughout. It is approximately a mile from the centre of Boquete, which we always walked to (downhill) and caught a ride with a cab back. The only... more

First, to avoid confusing, I am reviewing the following lodging. Isla Verde Hotel Roundhouse Inn (Boquete, Panama). There seems to be some naming differences but I believe I have the correct place. (based on Owners name, grounds, location, etc.) We traveled around Panama for 3 weeks. This place is OK. But, cannot see rating it so high (5*). As many... more

The Location: Set against the river, with beautiful gardens, and the perfect decor. Just far enough from town to be enjoy peace and quiet, close enough to feel connected. The Rooms: The rooms will make you feel at home. Our room had a very inviting feel and did not feel like a hotel room by any means. The service: A... more

My wife and I, along with her parents had the great pleasure of staying at Los Establos last week. We made our reservations in early November, and due to the media updates regarding the flood in Boquete, we reluctantly cancelled our reservations prior to us leaving the States. Fortunately , the hotel contacted us on Tuesday December 2nd in Panama... more

Panamonte Inn & Spa

The Panamonte was the best place we ate dinner in our five nights in Boquete. We ate there twice because the food was so delicious. Everyone in my party got different entrees and it was rave reviews all around. The dining room was very classy and the prices were exceptional compared to what you would pay in the U.S. for... more

The people in my party really enjoyed this restaurant. Most of us got crepes for dinner and for dessert. Both the savory and sweet crepes were excellent. The crepes are slightly thicker than a traditional French crepe but they are so good! We even had to go back for more dessert crepes after dinner at another restaurant. more

Located in a coffee farm with a view you could spend hours watching everything about La Montana y El Valle the Coffee Estate Inn is top shelf. The bungalows are first class, very comfortable beds, that make you feel more like you are in your home than on the road. The bungalows have 2 rooms with small kitchen, dining/sitting area... more

La Montana y el Valle Coffee Estate Inn

I discovered La Montana y el Valle years ago and have returned for seven visits since. The tranquility and beauty of the property sets it above any other location in Boquete. The gardens are lush and beautifully maintained. A morning or afternoon walk amongst the orange trees, coffee plants, and tropical vegetation is refreshing. The setting away from the hustle... more

Finca Lerida Ecolodge

Nov 25, 2008

Finca Lerida is about two-thirds rain forest with trails. The grounds are absolutely beautifully landscaped. You can walk through the forest, tour the coffee plantation, or sit on your private front porch (one per each room in the ecolodge) and read or just watch the many birds. Although we had the bad luck to visit during a very heavy storm,... more

My girlfriend and I unfortunately were able only to stay one night at this lovely inn, since we visited Boquete during Panamanian Independence Day Holidays (first few days of November). We chose this place based on the reviews here and the desire for a unique and romantic place, not some gaudy corporate chain, and we were not disappointed. This is... more

La Montana y el Valle Coffee Estate Inn

I stayed here last year and only booked the place because I had little time and read all these reviews. I cannot say anything was wrong with the place in general but the price is simply too high. The hotel is not in Boquete itself and you need a car preferably 4x4 (if in rainy season) I was checking again... more

we have stayed here before and love the new owners. They have redone the rooms and made our stay very pleasant. It rained all week but we were made to feel right at home. It's a small place with beautiful flowers and birds right on the river. Every night they give guests a free glass of wine at the bar... more

My husband Joe and I stayed for 2 weeks for the second time in 2008. The staff, hotel and service gets better each time. We met a couple of really nice ladies, Margarette and Vickie from different parts of the US. Both of them are looking to move to Boquete. We have a home in Boquete Country Club and hope... more

My wife and I stayed at Isla Verde for one month. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Fantastic grounds and gardens. Large property very close to the wonderful town of Boquete. Immaculately clean. Very reasonable rate if staying a month and going to HablaYa language school which is also highly recommended. We couldn't have been more pleased. more

This was a first rate experience in a Third World country! Jane and Barry are extraordinary hosts, and their "cabins" are nicely appointed, well constructed and impeccably maintained. There is nothing they can't help you with, and they've constructed an environment that magnifies the beauty of Volcan Baru. These people are gracious and warm, helpful and informative, yet manage to... more
